When a vehicle is found to be breaking parking, driving or roadway laws, tow companies may be called to tow away vehicles. Impound authorization may be done by an rcmp officer, business owner, insurance company or county officials. If you or your automobile fail to follow driving, parking or roadway laws your vehicle may be subject to impoundment. In these cases you must call the seizing authority (rcmp officer, business owner, insurance company or county official who had your vehicle authorized towed away and impound). To see which towing company was called and authorized to impound your vehicle. Please call who you believe to be the seizing officer in your case. If you believe that our company was called to tow and impound your vehicle, please call our office at 780-656-5506 for information on your vehicle such as: forms to sign in order to have your vehicle released to you, daily fees, and ID requirements. In all impound or seizure cases, the registered owner is solely responsible and liable for any tow away fees, daily impound fees , and any other fees that may have accumulated during the impoundment. If your vehicle has been seized by RCMP, please call the officer who authorized the impoundement for infomation such as how long the impound is mandated for. In some instances this may be 30 days, 60 days or more. Vehicles under a seizure time mandate legally cannot be released until the designated seizure release date. Please call our office to recieve any documentation and paperwork required by law, to have your vehicle released. This may include valid photo I.D, proof of ownership and full payment.

If your vehicle has been impounded do to being parked in a tow away zone or unauthorized parking zone, our team will do our due diligence to make contact with you, the registered owner in a timely manor. All outstanding balances must be paid in full before a vehicle can be authorized for release. We ensure that all vehicles impounded at Hazard Lights Towing and Recovery will be stored safely and securely on our fully fenced yard. If you need to access your personal belongings while your vehicle is impounded, please email or call ahead to receive vehicle access forms. These forms may also be fille out in person, by the registered owner only. Please provide signed forms and valid ID before access or release can lawfully be granted. To ensure all impounded and stored vehicles are kept safe and secure, access to vehicles will be denied to the impound yard after 9pm, however, we can accommodate after hours vehicle release or belonging retrieval in rare cases, such as urgent or emergent situations. Provided that a call is made to our officd ahead of arrival, ID is validated, proof of ownership is provided and release / retrieval forms are filled out in entirety. Access may also be denied in instances in which the property retrieval/vehicle release forms are incomplete or when and if valid photo ID and proof of ownership is not provided or verified, or when due outstanding balances fail to be made

. If the Registered owner is sending someone other than themselves to retrieve belongings out of the vehicle or to retrieve the vehicle itself, these release forms must be signed by the registered owner and sent with the authorized person of your choosing. These forms must be present and complete in order to release the vehicle to someoneother than the registered owner.
